At the Kansas Post Adoption Resource Center (KPARC) and the Kansas Caregiver Support Network, we believe that continuous learning is crucial for personal and family growth. With that in mind, we have revamped our training schedule to include engaging and informative sessions every week!

Training Tuesdays: A New Thematic Approach

Join us every Tuesday for our revamped Training Tuesday series, featuring weekly thematic topics to provide focused learning experiences. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect:

· Week 1: Trauma Tuesday Trauma affects many children in foster care and adoptive situations in various ways. On Trauma Tuesday, we will dive into understanding the impact of trauma, exploring effective strategies for trauma-informed care, and sharing resources to help families navigate this complex area.

· Week 2: Take Care of You Tuesday Caregiving can be a demanding role, often leading to burnout and neglect of self-care. This week is dedicated to reminding caregivers about the importance of putting themselves first, through self-care practices, mindfulness techniques, and finding balance in everyday life.

· Week 3: Tackling Big Behavior Tuesday Ever faced a challenging behavior that left you scratching your head? This session will provide insights into understanding and managing significant behaviors in children, offering practical strategies to help caregivers respond effectively and compassionately.

· Week 4: Tuesday Topic The fourth week of the month is all about variety! This week will feature a surprise topic selected from community feedback, covering anything from adoption resources, local support groups, advocacy strategies, and much more. Stay tuned to see what we’ll explore!

Bites of Insights: Thursday Lunch Hour Training

Mark your calendars for our unique Bites of Insights sessions the first and third Thursday, except in January to accommodate the holidays, during lunchtime! These informal, yet enlightening discussions will focus on various facets of foster care and adoption, providing you with bite-sized information to digest over your lunch break.
