As someone who enjoys creating and editing videos for YouTube, he especially enjoyed getting involved in the creative process. Andrew enjoys just about any sport, but basketball is his favorite by far. Give him a basketball and a court, and he’s ready to play! During one of his YCP visits, Andrew spent well over an hour shooting hoops at the rec center and easily could have stayed there all day.
When he’s not playing himself, Andrew enjoys following basketball and has a clear favorite player: Anthony Edwards, better known as “Ant-Man.” The Minnesota Timberwolves star is Andrew’s all-time favorite and even inspired the graphic you see here.
Andrew also had the chance to attend a Wichita State basketball game while creating his YCP. Of course he enjoyed the game, but another part of the experience caught his attention—the camera equipment. Andrew enjoys making and editing videos for YouTube, so getting behind the videographer’s camera and trying his hand at filming some of the action was right up his alley.
Basketball is one of the interests Andrew would especially love to share with a family. Whether you’re ready to shoot some hoops, catch a game together, or talk basketball, Andrew would be happy to have you on his team.
Andrew has an eye for a great car. His taste doesn’t stop with one particular style either. He appreciates the sleek look and power of newer cars like a Hellcat just as much as the character of an old-school Cadillac – and plenty of cars in between.
For Andrew, that interest goes beyond simply admiring them. He hopes to become a mechanic someday, and he has already spent time thinking about how he can turn that goal into a reality.
His plan is to start small, learning how to repair things like bicycles and lawnmowers before working his way up to four-wheelers and motorbikes. Eventually, he hopes to build the skills and experience he needs to work on cars.
Andrew would especially enjoy having someone in his life who shares this interest and could learn alongside him, or even teach him a thing or two. Whether it’s working together in the garage, fixing something that isn’t running quite right, checking out a cool car, or tackling a new project, this is one passion Andrew would love the opportunity to share.
Andrew cares deeply about his relationships with others and has a natural way of making people feel seen. He is the kind of kid who walks down the school hallway giving out high-fives, stopping to say hello, and remembering the people he meets.
He also takes his friendships seriously. When there is a misunderstanding or a hard day, Andrew is willing to talk through what happened, think about the other person’s perspective, and figure out how to move forward. He wants to understand the people he cares about and be a good friend to them.
Andrew also loves sharing the things that make him happy with others. Whether it’s basketball, cars, a new video he’s created, or an experience he is excited about, he wants the people around him to be part of it too.
